It was an amazing, and adorable, turnout this year for OpenRoad Auto Group’s (OpenRoad) popular public event, Pet Photos with Santa, just-in-time for the holidays. This year’s event raised more than $8,900 for the four local non-profits, a company record, and over 400 people came to immortalize their beloved pets in photos. Jolly Saint Nick posed with a variety of pets this year, including dogs, cats, turtles, and guinea pigs.
Located across four B.C. municipalities at four dealerships—OpenRoad Subaru Boundary, MINI Langley, OpenRoad Acura Richmond, and OpenRoad Mazda Port Moody—the multi-day event kicked-off on November 26, 2022, with each location raising record-breaking amount for their local animal charities, including Regional Animal Protection Society (RAPS), Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS), BC SPCA Tri-Cities, and the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.
“We are so thrilled to have raised a record $8,900 this year with our Pet Photos with Santa initiative,” said Joanna Ho, Loyalty & Retention Manager, for Club OpenRoad. “The community really showed up to support the animal shelter non-profits and really get into the holiday spirit.”
Photos were taken by professional pet photographer Katherine Gonzalez of Vancouver Pet Photography, and guests received both a digital and printed copy of the photo with a donation of $20.
“Pets are family for many people and, often, they aren’t permitted to go inside malls to see Santa,” said Ho. “We create a great environment at our dealerships for the holiday pet photo experience—it’s not too loud or crowded, so less distraction. People can make bookings ahead of time. All pets are welcome!”
Since its inception in 2019, Club OpenRoad’s Pet Photos with Santa has raised more than $23,000 (including this year’s amount) for animal non-profits in B.C. This year, each participating dealership also donated $500 to their associated local animal rescue.
