On September 21, Arbour Automobile celebrated its 70th anniversary as well as the 50th anniversary of Volkswagen Canada. To highlight this achievement, André Arbour, owner, Stéphanie Arbour, manager, as well as Sébastien Arbour, sales manager, welcomed their family, friends and customers to the dealership located at 2475 Chomedey Boulevard in Laval.
During the festivities, the video “A Family Affair” was presented to share the success story of Arbour. This was followed by speeches from the various members of the Arbour team as well as the management of Volkswagen Canada, including Vincent Poirier, Sector Sales Director. After three long years, the Arbour family was happy to host an event and showcase the newly renovated dealership. The evening was a success and a reflection of this inspiring company.
Since its foundation in 1952, Arbour Automobiles has continued to grow.
Mr. Ovila Arbour, president and founder, started with the AMC (American Motor Company) banner, which he left in 1972 to acquire the Volkswagen banner.
In 1998, the family business moved to new premises, in a completely different location in Laval. It is here that the adventure continues, with twice the area and twice the number of staff.
It was in 2003 that Volkswagen Canada introduced a new store design called Marketplace. In 2010, Mr. André Arbour, son of Mr. Ovila Arbour, acquired a second Volkswagen banner, and it was in 2015 that Complexe 440 Volkswagen opened its doors east of Laval by adding a body shop department.
To this day, Mr. André Arbour and the next generation, Stéphanie and Sébastien, work to offer their customers a shopping experience worthy of the Arbour promise.
