Toyota’s in a bind, as are many other automakers around the globe. The ongoing global microchip shortage continues to haunt production and the giant Japanese auto manufacturer will have to revise its projected output numbers once again. Despite the situation, Toyota plans to build 9.7 million new vehicles in its current fiscal year which ends next March. So far, it looks as though they will miss the mark. In the first six months of 2022, production was 3.8% from 2021 numbers for a total of 4.36 million units.
