NCDA’s popular Auction for Athletes is returning April 24 to 27, 2023, for another year of support for Special Olympics BC. For more than 35 years, this annual online auction has raised vital funds to empower Special Olympics athletes with intellectual disabilities, and help the New Car Dealers Foundation of BC award automotive industry grants and scholarships. The generous donations and bids in the Auction for Athletes helps Special Olympics BC “create empowering connections, open hearts and minds to inclusion, and break down barriers” in 55 communities throughout the province.
The auction website annually attracts hundreds of visitors from around the province, bidding on sought-after items and experiences including new cars, electronics, autographed memorabilia, sporting goods, gift cards, and more.
The 2022 Auction for Athletes was the most successful yet, raising $245,000 for Special Olympics BC and the New Car Dealers Foundation of BC. In a press release last week, the NCDA extended their heartfelt thanks for “reuniting friends on the fields of play” to all the valued sponsors, donors, bidders, and supporters.
Since 1984, the New Car Dealers Association of BC has been committed to supporting Special Olympics BC through the New Car Dealers Foundation of BC, and has raised over $5.4 million to support SOBC’s life-changing year-round sport programs for people with intellectual disabilities, and the empowering work of the New Car Dealers Foundation.
