VinFast, a Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer, launched its operations in Canada with a splashy event in Toronto, Ont., last fall. Months later, it has now opened its first store in Vancouver, B.C.
Its new B.C. store is located in North Vancouver at the Park Royal Shopping Centre and is meant to convey a “Future of Mobility” theme. It will display two electric SUV models, the VF 8 and VF 9, and later on the VF 6 and VF 7.
“Vancouver is a key market for VinFast as one of Canada’s major cities with good infrastructure, many policies to encourage electrification and of course it’s people’s acceptance of electric vehicles,” said Nguyen Thi Van Anh, CEO of VinFast North America, in a statement.
VinFast is making good on its plans for expansion. The company already has a footprint in the United States, opened its first Canadian store in early 2022 in Toronto, Ont., and has a presence in the Montréal, Qué., area.
“With the presence of VinFast Park Royal, we have officially established our retail and service system in Canada’s three largest cities — Montréal, Toronto and Vancouver. We are well positioned to start delivering vehicles to customers,” said VinFast’s CEO in a statement.
Park Royal represents the company’s eighth VinFast store in Canada.
